Artistic and research interests

I specialise in computational simulations of soils, granular materials and constitutive modelling. My research focuses on:

1) advancing Material Point Method and applying it to large deformation problems, mainly in geotechnics

2) thermo-hydro-mechanical-chemical behaviour of unsaturated soils and associated coupling processes and implementation of those into numerical software (currently in-house developed Finite Element Code)

3) constitutive modelling of soils and granular materials, in particular influence of clay microstructure on its behaviour

I am a nominated member of International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering TC106 committee on unsaturated soil behaviour.
