Artistic and research interests

I am a post-doctoral researcher at the entrepreneurship research group, part of the Department of Management Studies at Aalto University School of Business in Helsinki, Finland. In my research, I mainly focus on social innovation, sustainable forms of entrepreneurship, the role of emotions, and institutional change. I apply predominantly qualitative research methods to study practices, affect and processes. As part of an EU-FP7 project, I investigated end-user innovation and entrepreneurship of sustainability-oriented enterprises. In a Finnish design-driven project on nanocellulose high-tech inventions, I have engaged with natural scientist and designers to co-create innovative venture ideas and investigated the creation of a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem. My interest in challenging environments has motivated field research in Haiti after the 2010-earthquake, in a community in Southern Chile after a volcano eruption, and on several islands in the Caribbean affected by hurricanes Irma and Maria. In addition to that I try to research and engage in the development of challenge-based entrepreneurship and innovation management education.
