Artistic and research interests

Pasi Toiviainen is a doctoral candidate at the Department of Architecture. Toiviainen's PhD research falls in the field of history of sustainable architecture and planning or, more broadly, environmental history of architecture. His further research interests extend to topics such as climate change and global change. While his background is in urban planning, Toiviainen has received several awards for his work as a science documentarist and non-fiction author. In 2011 The Finnish Association of Architects (SAFA) awarded him the TunnustusPAANU aknowledgement for advancing public awareness of ecological architecture and global climate change.
