Virtual Knitting collection presented at Knitwear Lab Showroom in Paris Fashion Week AW24/25

Netherlands based Knitwear Lab has teamed up with eight talented fashion designers to help create their knitwear collections with use of the lab’s expertise and Virtual Knitting technology.

“Together with these inspiring men’s and womenswear designers, we embarked on a journey of revolutionising industrial knitwear development,” commented Knitwear Lab co-founder Cherish Brouwer.

“We explore the possibilities of transitioning from physical knitwear development to integration of virtual knitting, and we will expose the virtual and physical collections in our own Showroom in the vibrant Le Marais district in Paris - the heart of Paris Fashion Week FW24/25.”

In this exciting project, the focus is on transitioning from physical knitting to developing and visualising knitwear collections virtually. Thanks to virtual development, the production process allows to bring the designs to life with ease and with the benefit of reducing massive waste.

The knitwear collection presented at the showroom is designed by Anna-Mari Leppisaari and created in collaboration with KNITWEAR LAB and their Virtual Knitting Team. The collection is presented in both physical and virtual form.

Anna-Mari’s work is supported by Alfred Kordelin Foundation and Finnish Cultural Foundation.

Knitwear development by KNITWEAR LAB made with use of the latest Create software by KM.ON and the flatbed knitting machines from STOLL by KARL MAYER.
