Abstrakti

This chapter deals with zirconium and its ferroalloys technology. An overview of zirconium and of its properties and its reactions with other elements is presented, and major relevant phase equilibria diagrams are given. Zirconium sources (raw materials) and methods for zirconium reduction are discussed. Technologies for smelting ferrosilicozirconium (FeSiZr) and ferro-alumino-zirconium (FeAlZr) alloys are described. © 2013
