Abstrakti
Sites and Situations Art Event takes place in Rovaniemi 14.1.2019. The event presents artworks that are in direct and sentient relation with the situation surrounded - the height of the Arctic Circle in the darkest time of the year.
The event takes place in three locations in Rovaniemi located between the University of Lapland and center of Rovaniemi and Ounasvaara hill: Area between Harjulampi and Kemijoki, Juhannuskallio and Grill kiosk.
The artworks lean physically or conceptually on the structures of the locations that are visible in the landscape during the entire year, but being unused during the winter.
Welcome to an organized tour through the art projects on Monday the 14th of January at 2-6 pm. The tour starts from the University of Lapland (main lobby of the Faculty of Art and Design, Yliopistonkatu 8) at 2 pm by heading to the first location, after that a bus takes us to Ounasvaara and back to centre - to Valtakatu grill kiosk.
