Pori Biennale 2020: Not to Sing Like a City Bird. Curators: Anna Jensen & Eliisa Suvanto. Video: "Taiteellisen tutkimuksen suojelualue / The Sanctuary of Artistic Research" (HD 18 min.) This video is a kind of pastiche on artistic research that was made as part of a lecture performance that took place in Pori in 2011. The performance involved Laakso standing guard in mock military costume with an air rifle while the video is screened, fenced off by reflective delineator rope, and taking a potshot across the room after the video ends. The video and performance were inspired by the scientific and artistic events happening simultaneously in Reposaari earlier the same autumn. This is a shorter version of that original video.
