Abstrakti
The present era is witnessing an exponential depletion of fossil fuel and other conventional sources of energy. This emphasizes the quest for greener technologies that can sustain reliably without adversely affecting the ecosystem. In this context, Plant Microbial Fuel Cell (PMFC) is emerging as a promising technology that can meet the increasing energy demands globally. The basic concept underlying PMFC is to generate the energy from living plants by breaking down the organic matter produced by them (as a part of photosynthesis) in soil by bacteria. The added advantage of using PMFC as a source of renewable energy is that it can also help in reducing carbon emissions. Different models of PMFCs have been developed, and they are found to be useful for a myriad of applications, including biosensing, wastewater treatment, and generation of bioelectricity. This paper aims to present a bibliometric analysis to visualize the current PMFC research scenario.
