Abstrakti

The construction sector urgently needs to undergo digital transformation due to lagging productivity and inefficiencies. Within this context, this paper considers the interplay of a triad of variables influencing digital transformations; technological innovations, business development, and ecosystem change to leverage and drive progress through such transformation. The paper uses a multiple case study to examine the dynamics of the factors interacting in four different cases in the construction sector. The importance of adopting a systems perspective to comprehend digital transformations through the interaction of business, technology, and ecosystems is highlighted in the conclusions.
