N2 - Clothing and textile design in collaboration with textile designer Sachiko Yamamoto and Kazuma Co.Studio Viippola has helped Kazuma with concept design, portfolio development, colour design, and design & brand management. Also, photoshoot for the collection was organized by Studio Viippola in Helsinki together with art director Päivi Niemi and photographer Juho Länsiharju. Kazuma Co. is a Japanese third-generation family business that manufactures curtain fabrics and curtains. Together with Studio Viippola and textile designer Sachiko Yamamoto, Kazuma has developed a new collection of bags, home clothes and textiles. The concept is called “Everyday renewed”. The collection supports creating rituals that enhance wellbeing at home and offer comfort when going out. The aim is to enable people to find happiness in the everyday life: to pause over a hot drink, to take a small nap, to relax in a bath or Finnish sauna, or to go for a walk outside.Kazuma’s new products are designed so that there is no unnecessary textile waste. The fabrics are used in their entire width and any leftover pieces are used in other products like pouches. The home clothes are unisex & one-size only. One universal size of clothing simplifies manufacturing and logistics. The collection also includes bags and pouches made from leftover pieces from roller curtain manufacturing. The information on artistic outputs in the Aalto Research Portal follows the reporting guidelines of Finland’s Ministry of Education and Culture. Therefore, each contribution requiring independent artistic activity is reported separately. For full details of the work and its contributors, please refer to information provided by the publisher.
