Designing Service Blueprints for Cultural Heritage Museums that Incorporate Semantic Technologies

Abstrakti

Service design blueprints are diagrams that visualise a service from the point of view of stakeholders and systems involved. Museums and cultural heritage institutions have been using service blueprints to visualise and provide better experiences to their audiences. In the context of the European SPICE (Social cohesion, Participation, and Inclusion through Cultural Engagement) project researching five Case Study museums, the concept of citizen curation is aimed at engaging with audiences, sharing their interpretations of museum objects, and developing a better understanding of different communities. We created service blueprints in each Case Study by co-designing personas and user experiences as well as through representation of the semantic technologies' actions at each service touchpoint. This paper presents the parameters used for persona design, user-experience maps, and the service blueprints, some of which are unique to the context of the SPICE project.
