Black Theatre The Little Mermaid in 2008 Director: Bojan Baric Costume, Set and Puppet Designer: Kirsi Manninen In the photo there you can see Satu Rekola as The Little Mermaid, but there are also 4 puppet actors: Anna Pelkonen, Satu Paavola, Antti Silvennoinen and Sakari Männistö with their Mermaid sister puppets. Because of the black theater's illusion, these actors and actresses are invisible. Black theater is rarely done in Finland and know-how was hard available. During the design process I made a huge amount of research and experimental work, so that I managed to get the right products and materials and I received fabrics to glow under UV light.
