Complexity and its dimensions in the servitization literature

Abstrakti

This study identifies the dimensions that characterize complexity in servitization. The study performs a systematic review of the existing body of knowledge in the servitization literature to analyze the constitutive characteristics of complexity. Following the systematic search methodology, screening procedure, and content analysis, the sample of this study includes 55 articles addressing complexity in servitization. The study develops a framework delineating the characteristics of complexity in the servitization of manufacturing firms. It identifies four dimensions of complexity in the articles: multiplicity, diversity, interdependence, and variability. These four constitutive dimensions are explained and elaborated for future research of servitization.
