Abstrakti

Metrology has been digitalising slowly compared to other sectors and industries. To overcome this, several research initiatives have been focusing on digitising the metrological information and documents. However, obtaining the full benefits of digitalisation requires changes in current practices, processes, and infrastructure. The communication and exchange of data between the different actors, e.g., instrument owners, manufacturers, service, or system providers related to calibration have so far been mostly bilateral. Platform economy and anti-rival data sharing have been proven to be an efficient way of creating additional value within organisations and value chains. Scalability and centralised development of the tools and software needed for the communication and system integration reduce the total development costs within the ecosystem.
