Abstrakti
Nano-TiO2/feldspar supported chitosan bio-beads were developed and successfully tested for arsenic removal. Experiments were conducted to examine arsenic removal as a function of pH and bio-bead dose. The effect of initial arsenate concentration and operational time are also reported. Isotherm and kinetic data are presented. The results revealed that the bio-beads are able to remove arsenic in a wide range of pH. The adsorption equilibrium study demonstrated that equilibrium is achieved after 3 h. Kinetic data followed pseudo-second order kinetic model. The Freundlich isotherm model was best fitted to the equilibrium data.
