Digital design techniques are not only an extension of design methods but are also changing the way of thinking. The digital enforces a precision in the design methods and techniques with the operative as an index of this shift in thinking. This paper argues that the digital unleashes architecture as a discipline with close relationship to mathematics and aims at sketching digital design thinking as phenomenological computation, a space-oriented exploration of organizational patterns and new form of structuralism understood as active act of construction relationships. This opens up a way of linking scientific and artistic ways of thinking by means of computation and helps to view the design process as research activity and systematic locus of production of knowledge within architecture.
