Indoor air problems are complicated, and need to be approached from many perspectives.
In this research, we tested the effectiveness of four-level categorisation for organising the re-sults of building investigations. In addition, we evaluated the urgency of the indoor air quality (IAQ) measures based on symptoms of the employees and the occupational health services’ assessment of group-level health information on the employees and on a multiprofessional indoor air group’s assessment of the current IAQ of the premises. We studied the association between the building investigations’ results and the symptoms perceived by the employees and the group-level health information, and the association between the symptoms perceived by employees and ventilation deficiency. The results show that this multiprofessional approach produced a wider picture of the IAQ problem and provided more information to support deci-sion-making. We also concluded that IA questionnaires alone cannot determine the urgency of the measures required.
