The COVID-19 crisis heavily tested grocery supply chains and supply chain management capabilities. Despite the challenges posed by sudden demand, supply, and capacity disruptions, many supply chains were able to keep-up good performance through the crisis. In this paper we present a multiple case study with longitudinal observations during the COVID-19 crisis based on empirical data from14 firms in different roles in the grocery supply chain. We identify the response actions for managing the acute crisis and how the supply chain adapted to the changing circumstances during the crisis. Last, we synthesize our findings to a set of propositions.
