Abstrakti

For making ceramics, the skills of the maker and the practitioner's tools are a central part of what can be realised. The development of new tools has pushed the potential for ceramics and the possibility for new shapes, purposes, and functions. The development of technologies has raised questions about the quality of the products concerned regarding those handmade versus those machine-made. In this article, we will discuss and show how a ceramic object produced by a new technology such as 3D printing, which can also be met with scepticism of the machine, can be considered as a craft.
