20/20: Twenty Artworks Celebrating Twenty Years

20/20 : Twenty Artworks Celebrating Twenty Years, explores the tenets which have defined the Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery's ethos over the last two decades. This exhibition examines a diverse group of international artists working across varied mediums and methodologies including Photography, Moving Image, Painting and Sculpture. The interests of these artists, explore subjects ranging from the environment and ecology, concerns around social justice, and the body politic. True to the gallery's spirit is the continuous examination of the field of The Moving Image. The inclusion of Jim Campbell, Alan Rath, Yorgo Alexopoulos and Peter Sarkisian provides for a thorough investigation of diverse means of creation as well as presentation. Their use of custom electronics, light emitting diodes, computer generated imagery and unique projection systems is core to the spirited approach the gallery has sought while exploring innovation in the field of The Moving Image. The gallery's commitment to photography and the consideration of the techniques inherent in the survey of the medium is represented in the works of Stephen Wilkes, Edward Burtynsky, Niko Luoma, Wang Ningde, and Cortis & Sonderegger. Through their use of analogue photography, digital tools, multiple exposure, and the manipulation of celluloid, this collection of artists represents the ever-changing evolution of what it means to be a photographer today.
