Abstrakti
The present study analyses the first stage production of the opera 'Kostas Karyotakis' (1987) by Mikis Theodorakis in relation to the text. It is based on the reading of the libretto from a scenographic and costuming point of view and provides a comparative study in relation to the final stage result examined through the scenographer's drawings and stage photographs. The analysis relates the composer's intentions, as expressed in the extremely detailed comments he provides in the libretto, to the scenographic and costume design solutions adopted by the artistic collaborators of the production.
