With the River

With the River pt. 3–5 is a work-of-art and an art process that studies through collaborative artistic work border-crossings and complex phenomena by different waters in the Nordic region during 2023–2025. The work unfolds in many parts in multidimensional ways both online and on location in Sweden, Finland and the Faroe Islands.

Pts. 3-5 are a collaboration between Mäkivuoti, Tjaldur and Jala Art Association who invite Nordic-based artists from different art fields to work on location together in HaparandaTornio, Tórshavn and Helsinki during 2023–25. The aim is to create a multidimensional space for a collective artistic work/art process that works long-term across borders both on location and through virtual spaces. The hosting partners for part 3.1–3.3 are Tjaldur (Helsinki, Finland) and Jala Art Association (Haparanda, Sweden). Eija Mäkivuoti acts also as the coordinator/facilitator of the funding and the practical arrangements and organisation.
