Projektin yksityiskohdat

Today, a series of mega disruptions-global-scale impact lasting over years-hit the global economy. The COVID-19 pandemic is one obvious case, which is followed by Russian invasion of Ukraine. The U.S.-China trade war has also caused grave challenges for businesses. Many multinational companies attempt to overcome and prepare for such "extreme" conditions by supply chain restructuring (SCR) such as relocation of facilities/plants, restructuring logistics channels, or changing supplier portfolios. Despite the dynamic business trend amid the mega disruptions, there is a substantial lack of knowledge of how exactly companies implement SCR and what the outcome of the implementation is. In this study, we aim to fill this gap by examining how various SCR events are associated with corporate short- and long-run sustainable performance. Findings of our study are expected to provide novel insights into how to prepare for next mega disruptions.
