    Description

    General description:
    The Finnish Biofoundry for synthetic biology and biomanufacturing (FIN-BioFoundry) brings together the scientific excellence and industry interface of VTT, Aalto University, University of Turku and Tampere University to develop cutting-edge, enabling solutions for industrial biotechnology. Key objectives of the FIN-BioFoundry are to provide a unique and enabling platform for cutting-edge science in synthetic biology and biomanufacturing research, enable high-level education and workforce training for research and bio-based industries, support an essential part of future circular bioeconomy development and national manufacturing resiliency, and form the Finnish node in the European IBISBA ESFRI infrastructure network dedicated to Industrial biotechnology.

    Service description:
    The web page for the FIN-BioFoundry RI activities at the School of Chemical Aalto will be made available in early 2025. The FIN-BioFoundry is an open access facility that is openly available for education, researcher training, and research projects. Services are also provided for industry and other stakeholders. Facilities can be used via joint research or service fees. The prerequisite for the access and use of equipment is the facility introduction and equipment training. In some cases, the analysis will be conducted as a service by the trained staff only.
