Description

You can find gridded population projections for the Mediterranean region that are consistent with the Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs). These projections have been produced with a gravity-based modeling approach, accounting for rural-urban and inland-coastal migration as well as for urban sprawl.
The population grids present the number of people per grid cell and are available for the total population (pop_tot), the urban population (pop_urb), and the rural population (pop_rur) in GeoTIFF format. The population grids have a spatial resolution of 30 arc seconds (~1km at the equator) and are available in ten-year increments from 2010 to 2100 for each SSP.
