Roberta Teixeira Polez PhD from Aalto University is researching how nanocellulose can improve 3D cell culture for more accurate drug screening. Roberta and the team study how cells interact with nanocellulose to form spheroids, which are spherical clusters of cells that provide a realistic and physiologically relevant miniature of human tissue. Nanocellulose is both biocompatible and non-toxic and offers a great matrix for medical applications!
