Description
Aalto University and Aalto Campus & Real Estate ACRE were commissioning a concept-level landscape plan for Otaniemi. The current campus landscape is a combination of modern architectural heritage, Natura 2000 habitat zone, and a fragmented network of green spaces. In addition to hosting a range of multidisciplinary academic functions, the campus landscape is fostered also as a living lab of scientific and artistic experimentation. Aalto University is seeking to augment its campus development activities with a strategic landscape architecture concept. The objective is to create an urban landscape framework as a foundation for all future campus development. The landscape concept for Otaniemi will mark a new stage in a long-term urban development process. The framework should address aesthetic character, sustainability and resilience and modes of urban transformation (interaction of human and natural systems) as central themes.Aikajakso | 25 syysk. 2017 → 18 lokak. 2017 |
