Description
The second MerryCrispr workshop, as in 2017 again five days, exploring the artistic use -and literacy of the gene editing technology CRISPR-Cas9: tool that claims to change the genome in a way as nature would do over a much longer timespan.The workshop is led by artist Marta de Menezes.
The participants explore the technology and its possible impact on art and society via hands-on wetlab sessions, project design in group, expert talks and discussions. In the evenings there is side program at the new Bioartsociety venue SOLU.
The 25 Participants are artists, thinkers, scientist and students from all over the world.
Initiated and organized by Bioartsociety, in collaboration with Aalto University, School of Arts, Design and Architecture.
The setting: Biofilia Lab for biological arts (Aalto, Espoo) and SOLU (Helsinki)
