Description
"In-Between: Art, Education and Politics in the Post-Welfare State" conference and artistic event, organized in Helsinki and Stockholm from April 14 to 17 2016, gathered together artists, art educators, curators, researchers, and students from all Nordic countries to share insights to the current social, political, economic, and educational climate in Northern Europe and beyond. Organized in two cities by five institutions, it combined academic and artistic practices in order to explore the politics and aesthetics of art and its education. All events related to “In-Between” were open to the public and free of charge. The academic part, organized by Department of Art at Aalto University, Department of Visual Arts Education at Konstfack University College of Arts, Craft and Design and Iceland Academy of the Arts, consisted of invited keynote lectures, panel discussions, and student-led workshops. The artistic program, curated by Checkpoint Helsinki and Tensta Konsthall, involved South African musicians Dope Saint Jude and Angel-Ho, Cape Town based artist collective Chimurenga, and Swedish artist duo Goldin+Senneby.| Aikajakso | 14 huhtik. 2016 → 17 huhtik. 2016 |
