On the 6th of September, 2019, on friday, at 6 p.m. at KCCC Exhibition Hall (Didžioji Vandens st. 2, Klaipėda), exhibition and performance platform „Women on the Moon“ dedicated to the Contemporary Art Month is being presented. Curators - Denise Ackerl and Laima Kreivytė.

2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the man's landing on the Moon. From 1969 till 1972, when the programme was discontinued, 12 men participated in lunar missions. Although 13 women were also being prepared for the mission, they "ran out of time". The Moon is a starting point for exhibition participants to talk about peering (telescopic, microscopic, panoptic, personal), spatial practices (dialectics of internal and external space, transgression of boundaries), and body dynamics in abnormal situations (weightlessness, etc.). The artists also go deep into the issues of knowing, power and gender through scientific researches and mythological narrations.
