    Abstract

Chilean artist Ariel Bustamante is known for works that break down traditional notions of sound art. In his projects and research, Bustamante concentrates on finding strategies to understand physical and cognitive aspects of sound. In this way both architectural and sculptural features are present in his art. Most projects also include elements of media technology and science. Ariel Bustamante was chosen in an international open call to Aalto University’s Artist-in-Residence programme at the School of Arts, Design and Architecture. His residency was from 2014 until 2015.
