Abstract

In a process for concentrating an aqueous solution of an alcohol by pervaporation technique, that is by conducting the alcoholic solution onto one side (14a) of a semipermeable membrane (20) located in an enclosed space (14) and by removing from the other side (14b) of the membrane vaporizing permeate which has diffused through the membrane (20) and which is of changed alcohol concentration, the semipermeate membrane (20) is formed of cellulose carbamate.
