    Abstract

Various Attempts To Organize Matter is an audiovisual performance that combines both live and prerecorded materials. The performance is divided into three sections each of those following a similar process: a progressive organization of the raw material using different tools and algorithms. The starting point focuses on the collection, digitalization and organization of objects as simple and mundane as small stones. Emphasising characteristics and quality of these everyday elements, we want to examine their potential of creating structure and forms in time by using different strategies of organization.

The project in its current state is presented in the form of an audiovisual performance during which stones are collected, selected and sampled with a microscope and further analyzed, organized and composed in animation. The same stones are set into motion by the performers and sound of their collision is live sampled and transformed live.
