Abstract
This study aims to increase understanding of aesthetic experience through philosophical analysis with, perspectives from latest research in neuroscience and cognitive science. We explore aesthetic experiences’ multi-dimensional nature and role in perception, emotions and cognition in general. Highlighting the interconnectedness of aesthetic experience, including reactions, motivations, complex feelings, and memory integration, we emphasize its recursive nature bridging emotional and rational elements. Dialectic dichotomies in aesthetic experience, such as active/passive and emotional/rational aspects, are discussed. We examine emotions and feelings in human development and ethical frameworks, especially in relation to emerging technologies and human-computer interactions. We propose acknowledging the universal presence of aesthetics in human experiences, impacting cultural expressions and technological advancements. Exploring the reciprocal relationship between humans and technology, we emphasize the influence of interactive technologies on behavior and cultural norms. Aesthetic considerations in designing intelligent solutions are highlighted, introducing the concept of ‘smart aesthetics’.
