Timeless: A pattern design of embroidered devoré fabric

Research output: Artistic and non-textual formDesignArt in non-art workpeer-review

Abstract

The unusual design of the floor-to-ceiling fabric Timeless was developed especially for the Christian Fischbacher company’s 200th anniversary. In line with the theme of ‘our time’, the design portrays a clock and 1819 – the year Christian Fischbacher was established – in Roman numerals. The embroidered burnout fabric uses a stunning combination of different techniques. Single-colour and two-tone twisted yarns create a surface with an elegant sheen which contrasts with the matt transparency of the burnout section. Timeless is available in three colours: champagne white, silvery brown and an anthracite version with the numbers embroidered in gold.
