Three dimensional carbon multielectrode arrays for electrochemical detection of dopamine in low concentrations

Abstract

We report successful fabrication of three dimensional carbon multielectrode arrays (3D C-MEA) for electrochemical detection of dopamine (DA). The 3D C-MEA format lead to improvements in sensitivity, spatial accuracy and the ability to detect DA in presence of ascorbic acid (AA) and uric acid (UA) in physiologically relevant concentrations. The used carbon material is SU-8 derived pyrolytic carbon, which allows patterning with photolithography before carbonization.
