Abstract

In this work, the thermochemical properties of five polymeric firestop materials are studied. Thermogravimetric analysis was performed for the firestop samples in both inert and oxidizing atmospheres with three different heating rates. The decomposition temperatures and residual masses of the products were determined, and the results were compared with the thermochemical properties of polymers without fire-retardant treatment collected from the literature. The aim of this work is to study the chemical composition and behaviour of polymeric firestop materials, provide information about the features of the materials and to build a base for further studies.
