Abstract

Universities have faced hardship for years now. One after another, governments have cut funds from education and science, causing everything and everyone to be stretched thin. The resources do not cover the necessities anymore, and thus some have been treated unjustly.

Annika Grof’s film takes a look at the situation through university staff members in different positions. Professor Jukka Kekkonen seeks a chance to make an impact by running for Parliament. Taina Saarikivi looks for an opportunity to advance her research, seemingly peculiar to outsiders. French language professor Gaela Keryell, a victim of employee co-operation negotiations, seeks help from courts to determine the basis of her termination.
