Research output: Contribution to journal › Article › Scientific › peer-review

Abstract

This text investigates the origins of performative coloniality in the modern era. It examines formative elements such as hierarchy, scepticism, and non-ethics, establishing them as tactical methods in the deployment of global colonialism. It provides genealogical links between coloniality and precolonial forms of oppression, asking, how and on whom were such tactics were perfected? What role did patriarchy, capitalism, and social class play in the rise of race and racial supremacy? What similarities exist between colonialism and parallel oppression systems? The text conducts comparative analysis of colonial racism and caste as simpatico systems, providing specific insights into contemporary power/oppression matrices.

Keywords: coloniality, pre-colonial oppressions, caste, dispensability, graded inequality, alienation.
