    Abstract

The Distance narrates emotional relationship between mother and daughter, including artist’s intimate memories of the Caspian Sea and family. Video speaks of distance and migration, disorientation and a tremendous sense of loss as a result of the separation.

The theme for FemF 2017 (annual feminist forum) was Movement. The feminist movement is multidimensional. Something moves us and we become feminists. Feminism moves us in many different ways and on many different levels on the local and global, the personal and collective. Bodies move as well from one place to another. Whose movement is restricted between countries and inside of them? What kind of restrictions of movement do different bodies encounter? How to interpret embodied movement from a feminist perspective?
