Abstract
This chapter deals with the technology of ferrotitanium alloys. An overview of titanium, its basic properties, and its reactions with other elements is presented, and major relevant phase equilibria diagrams are given. The raw materials for titanium are discussed, and methods for titanium oxide reduction are presented. Ferrotitanium grades are described, and the technology for smelting ferrotitanium by aluminum reduction is discussed. © 2013
