Abstract

The space-vector theory and switching theory are combined into the space-vector of the switching functions, called switching vector. A polyphase matrix converter is divided into changeover switches and the general properties of the switching vector of changeover switches are presented. The quality of converter control is described by considering performance vectors and performance indexes. Analysis of phase-shift controlled ac-dc and ac-ac converters as well as self-commutated dc-ac converters is demonstrated as an application of switching vector.
