Abstract

This paper develops an integrated Operations Research framework to support supply chain strategies for the sustainable and resilient deployment and lifecycle management of smart lighting systems. The framework combines mixedinteger linear programming, stochastic programming, and reverse logistics optimization, evaluated through discrete-event simulation using synthetic data. Simulation results demonstrate significant gains in cost reduction, resilience enhancement, and lifecycle sustainability. Key findings include optimized phased delivery strategies, resilience-oriented inventory policies, and circularity-driven reverse logistics designs. The study offers practical insights for municipalities, lighting system integrators, and supply chain professionals engaged in smart lighting and smart city infrastructure projects.
