Abstract
Session 5 on storm-substorm relationships consisted of three introductory talks and collected 16 poster presentations on various aspects of the problem. Especially, several presentations discussed the role of substorms in the storm evolution, on the differences and similarities between isolated substorms and storm-time substorms, and on the role of relativistic electron acceleration during geomagnetic storms. Here we present a short summary of the session.
