Abstract
Aalto University Properties are carrying out Ecocampus 2030- project to increase energy self-sufficiency and energy efficiency in their buildings in Aalto University’s Otaniemi Campus. In addition to the Ecocampus 2030- project, other parties are conducting ambitious projects related to renewable electricity and heat, e.g. geothermal district heat. In this paper, we present the current energy-related projects and pilots in Otaniemi Campus area. We focus on the demand side management pilot conducted in an office building in detail and analyze real data provided by the pilot. The conducted demand side management pilot showed promising results in increasing energy efficiency as the district heat consumption of the building decreased 27 MWh due to the demand side management measures.
