The exhibition “Shaping the Future” is part of the European funded Ceramics and its Dimensions project, with the intention of discussing the future of ceramics by exploring new techniques, technologies and rethinking materials.

In the exhibition there are works from invited artists and from the students and teachers of four European universities. A selection of the work exhibited was initiated in a workshop, which was organized at the KAHLA Porcelain factory (Germany) in spring 2016. The workshop concentrated on design, education, 3D printing in clay and food culture. The exhibition has been curated by Finnish artist Riikka Latva-Somppi.

Several events related to the exhibition will be run alongside the BCB programme including a panelled discussion for local ceramists and artisans, the annual European Future Lights competition, the Ceramics and its Dimensions Final Congress and a meeting with the European partner institutions participating in the project.
