Shallow Springs

Research output: Artistic and non-textual formExhibitionArt in coproductionpeer-review

Abstract

The exhibition also looks into how the moving image performs shallowness as a critical stance. In three early video works from 1984, 1988 and 1993, Marikki Hakola (Finland, 1960) displays various visual strategies (ultra-short clips from television advertising, sumptuous image editing, collaborating with a contemporary dance company) for addressing political and existential concerns.

The information on artistic outputs in the Aalto Research Portal follows the reporting guidelines of Finland’s Ministry of Education and Culture.
