Abstract

In order to rotate the wheel of circular economy- recovery of valuables from solid side streams of forest- based industries is becoming very crucial at present. Despite having many advantageous features than conventional techniques, crystallization at low temperature range yet has not been studied intensively. According to the thermodynamics between solid and liquid phases at lower temperatures, it appears that there are several potential applications where this separation method can be applied. In eutectic freeze crystallization, crystallization of a solute and freezing of water occur simultaneously at the eutectic point. The present work focuses on separations by eutectic freeze crystallization of aqueous solutions containing two inorganic salts.
