    Abstract

    Fault diagnosis and remote support systems have been studied very intensively in recent years. Increasing availability and minimising the service costs are the main objectives for the remote diagnosis of process equipment A high degree of availability and ease of maintenance and repair gives a competitive edge to the manufacturer. In this paper, various remote support systems on the market are first discussed. Then the intelligent control system for the variable volume pressure filter is presented. The main emphasis is on the discussion of the fault diagnosis module, and especially its remote support features.
