Abstract

The release of organic substances from eight different bleached pulps was evaluated. It was found that the release of organic substances from the pulp at slushing and refining was to a great extent affected by the charge of the pulp and of the salt concentration in the solution. A high fibre charge and a low salt concentration increased the release.
